Hindus have a hierarchy system. Although India is a democracy social hierarchy is evident in caste groups.

The caste system have many different ways of ranking.

Some of these include men out rank women of similar age, elders out rank younger family members, and the wealthy out rank the poor.

The Hindu life style also has a strong tie to family life. Having a joint family is highly valued, ideally consisting of several generations eating, working and worshiping together.

 A Hindu family has authority clearly drawn. The eldest male is the head of the house hold and his wife supervises the daughter in laws.
